I am a breast cancer survivor of 11 years. I'm so grateful for Pam and The Beautiful Gates Support Group embracing me during my setback.
Wow! How does one put into words something that God answered your prayers for during a very dark and challenging time. The Beautiful Gate was an awesome answered prayer for me when family and friends didn't understand my pain, my fear of my mortality, my fear of the unknown, and feeling isolated and alone. The Beautiful Gate was a light that I felt my life changing. The unity, trust, and sisterhood was beautiful.
I learned to be an advocate for my healing and medical treatment. We had medical specialists, yoga, nutrition, dance, and therapy. The Beautiful Gate provided many resources through field trips. We met many professionals in medicine who would give us answers to our questions in a way we could understand. The Beautiful Gate was a life changing experience for which I am forever grateful. Pam is one of my Angels sent by God.
A support group to me is an opportunity to share, to listen, to bond, to learn that you are not alone.
The Beautiful Gate Cancer Support Group allowed a diverse group of Survivors, men and women, of all ages to come together and speak openly about their experiences. The atmosphere was family oriented, welcoming and heartfelt. Everyone was genuinely concerned about others and willing to offer their assistance. We met weekly and enjoyed a nutritious meal in addition to the fellowship.
